Mike Lee was a die-hard Chicago Cubs fan living in California when he was a kid in 1993. Now he might be the most popular Cubs fan in Chi-Town.
Lee made a prediction in his ’93 high school yearbook: “Chicago Cubs. 2016. World Champions. You heard it here first.”
Lee says it was based on a dream he had that showed 2016 on the scoreboard.
Twenty-three years later, that bold prediction has turned Lee into an internet superstar. His yearbook photo first went viral when the Cubs clinched the National League Pennant last month.
After last night’s epic extra-inning win against the Cleveland Indians, it’s making the rounds again.
The internet is also going wild over a 2014 tweet predicting a Cubs-Indians tie at the end of Game 7 of the World Series. Fortunately, the second part of @RaysFanGio’s tweet didn’t come true. He predicted the world would end with the game all tied up.
2016 World Series.
Cubs vs Indians
And then the world will end with the score tied in game seven in extra innings #apocalypse— GIO (@RaysFanGio) November 4, 2014
Maybe these guys should book a trip to Vegas.
