HOUSTON - A University of Houston student was sexually assaulted early Friday morning while walking to campus, according to an alert sent out by the university.

Monday evening, the University of Houston Police Department received the report of sexual assault that took place on Cullen Blvd. under the I-45 bridge.

According to the university, a female student was walking to campus from an off-campus location when she was approached by the suspect. The student said she was walking to campus around 2 a.m. when the sexual assault took place.

The male suspect was described as 5'11'', 140-175 lbs., around 50 years old, light complexion wearing a black shirt and blue jeans.

UH Police is actively investigating the incident and a possible suspect has been identified.
