HOUSTON – An overheated truck lit up the sky overnight after it erupted into flames.
According to the Houston Police Department, the truck was headed west on the South Loop when the fire erupted.
Both the driver and his passenger were able to make it out of the vehicle OK. And it’s amazing they did considering this was no small blaze.
The fire left a charred spot on the feeder road. It took several firefighters about 15 minutes to finally put this fire out.

Video showed fierce flames shooting out from all sides of the truck.
Police said the truck overheated while the driver was headed west on the Loop. He then panicked, drove off the side of it through some brushes and ended up on the feeder.
This is a pretty busy freeway, but somehow the driver managed to avoid hitting any oncoming traffic when this happened.
