Six Flags Fiesta Batman ride halts after sensor alert

According to Six Flags, a safety sensor caused their BATMAN: The Ride roller coaster to freeze for 45 minutes.

Riders of Six Flags Fiesta's BATMAN: The Ride got more thrill than they were expecting after the roller coaster got stuck for almost an hour.

In a written statement, a spokesperson for Six Flags Fiesta says that a safety sensor caused the ride to freeze.

"One of the many safety sensors that monitors all aspects of the ride sent an alert, which caused the coaster to stop at the top of the initial lift."

The spokesperson also stated that riders "resumed a normal ride cycle and unloaded at ground level" after a 45-minute wait.

Guests at Six Flags took to Facebook to vent their frustrations with the delay, noting that the 45-minute freeze added to more than an hour of waiting in line.

"BATMAN: The Ride" is Six Flags' "4D Free Fly Coaster" that lifts riders 120 feet into the air and contains six free-fly flips along with two vertical drops.
