MESQUITE -- A body was recovered from a Mesquite creek Sunday afternoon after heavy rains swept through the area.
Mesquite Police located a body in South Mesquite Creek at approximately 1:45 p.m. after receiving a call that a man had fallen off a culvert around 12:15 p.m.
Mesquite Fire confirmed to News 8 the death appeared to be accidental and the victim lived in the residential neighborhood near the creek, which sits just south of U.S. Highway 80 in eastern Dallas County.
Garland Fire responded with a swift water rescue crew to help Mesquite Fire recover the body.
