We are once again monitoring for the possibility of strong to severe thunderstorms heading into your Wednesday.
The bad news is that the gorgeous weather is coming to an end. The good news is the weather turns equally as pretty beginning Thursday and will last for the next 7 to 10 days!
Seen above, the Storm Prediction Center has placed most of southeast Texas under a 'Slight Risk' of severe weather heading into Wednesday. This is a level 2 of 5 on how dire the situation is. In short, not all that dire.
I don't want to downplay the situation too much however. Any storm that develops Wednesday, whether morning or evening, will have the opportunity to turn severe. The main threats right now appear to be straight line winds in excess of 30 to 50 mph and small hail.
An isolated tornado can't be ruled out either.
There will be two distinct periods of rain and storms. The first will be in the early morning hours (4 a.m. until 10 a.m.) and again in the early to late evening (7 p.m. to 10 p.m.).
