HOUSTON -- Police shot and killed a robbery suspect in southwest Houston early Tuesday.

Houston police say the man robbed a CVS store and then took a Metro bus to a nearby McDonald's restaurant that he robbed as well.

Police from Houston and Bellaire responded to the scene and used a stun gun on the man, but he allegedly refused to surrender and drop his weapons. The Houston officer then fired an unknown number of shots.

The suspect was taken to the hospital where he died. No other injuries were reported.

The large police response blocked Bellaire Boulevard near Chimney Rock, right on the edge of the City of Bellaire, just before 7 a.m.
