CROSBY, Texas - A Harris County Sheriff's deputy was transported to the hospital by Life Flight after he was struck by a car Saturday night.

According to the Harris County Sheriff's Office, the deputy was struck while conducting a traffic stop around 10 p.m. in the 13300 block of Crosby Lynchburg Road.

Authorities said the deputy had finished the stop and was walking back to his car when another car slammed into the passenger's side of the patrol vehicle. The deputy's car then knocked the deputy to ground.

The deputy was transported my Memorial Herman Life Flight and is expected to be okay.

HCSO arrested the driver on suspicion of DWI.
