A man was arrested after allegedly assaulting his ex-girlfriend and barricading himself inside a northwest Houston home late Saturday night.
According to the Houston Police Department, a woman called around 11:30 p.m. about an aggravated assault. Police responded to a home a located in the 6800 block of McWilliams Drive.
Upon arrival, police learned a man had an argument with his ex-girlfriend, damaged her vehicle and then went inside the home.
SWAT responded to scene because the suspect initially refused to come out. Eventually, he was taken into custody without incident.
The suspect allegedly broke his ex-girlfriend's window with a knife, slashed her tire and tried to break another window before she was able to drive off. Police say she was in the car with her four children at the time.
The suspect will face charges of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, HPD says.
