HOUSTON- The Houston Fire Department responded to a fire that nearly destroyed a home in Greater Third Ward early Sunday morning.
According to HFD, crews arrived to a single-story wood-frame house with heavy smoke and fire on Lucinda Street near Bremond Street.
Two elderly occupants had already made it safely outside. HFD said they were transported to a hospital with smoke inhalation.
Firefighters were able to douse the flames, but the house was almost completely destroyed.
