Fire crews battled a two-alarm fire at an apartment complex in north Houston early Saturday morning.

According to the Houston Fire Department, they responded just after 3 a.m. to a fire at a complex located on Veterans Memorial Drive near W. Gulf Bank Road.

HFD says four units have substantial fire damage, and four additional units have water and smoke damage.

There were two residents who had minor burns to their hands. The rest of the residents evacuated safely.

At this time, the cause of the fire isn't known. HFD Arson will be investigating.

The Red Cross will be assisting displaced residents.
