HOUSTON- A family loss their home that went up in flames early Sunday morning in northeast Houston.

According to the Houston Fire Department, they responded to a house fire around 2:00 a.m. at Leffingwell Road and the North Loop East Freeway. They found the wood-framed home fully engulfed in fire.

HFD was able to get the fire under control, but the house is a total loss. The fire burned through the roof.

The family of five who lived there were gone for the night, but showed up after the fire department was there.

The family is reporting one of their cars as missing. They believe the car was stolen, and the house set on fire.

HFD Arson is currently investigating.
