HOUSTON – Houston Police took a driver into custody after an officer-involved crash in southwest Houston early Thursday.

According to police at the scene, the officer was driving his cruiser across Richmond at Greenridge when a man in a black Chevrolet Camaro t-boned him. Officers said they smelled alcohol on the driver, and he was taken into custody on suspicion of driving while intoxicated.

The officer that was hit was not seriously hurt, nor was the driver of the Camaro.
