Woman accused of shooting boyfriend, driving car into water with his body inside

Investigators made a startling discovery Wednesday when they found a man's body inside a submerged car in Highlands. Now, a woman is charged with murder.

HARRIS COUNTY, Texas — A woman has been charged with murder after a man's body was found in a submerged car in far east Harris County on Thursday.

According to investigators, Fransha Brooks reported her boyfriend, Johnathan Tisby, missing on Tuesday morning. She told authorities that Tisby gave a friend a ride the night before. She said she got a call early Tuesday morning and heard an argument and then the call dropped. She said she couldn't get back in touch with him.

On Tuesday afternoon, a caller reported that she had shot a man who was driving a car that matched the description of Tisby's. She told authorities that she shot him multiple times and drove his vehicle into a canal near the intersection of Jones Road and Thompson Road.

After a two-day search of the canal, authorities were able to find the Buick with Tisby's body inside.

Brooks was charged with murder and booked into the Harris County Jail.
