HOUSTON – The Houston Fire Department is investigating a fire that heavily damaged townhomes under construction near the Museum District.

Firefighters were called to Wheeler near Almeda around 12:15 a.m. Tuesday.

The first units on the scene found three townhomes under construction with one on the end fully engulfed in flames. One home was a complete loss while the other two were saved.

A home and small building behind the property were damaged by the heat.

There were no injuries reported.

Arson investigators are looking into a cause for the fire.

Last week firefighters responded to a blaze that heavily damaged a new apartment complex not far away.
