Some University of Houston cheerleaders are the ones being cheered Tuesday.
Last week, senior Anissa Ybarra tweeted photos of 15 dogs about to be put down because Fort Bend County’s Animal Shelter didn’t have enough room.

Two her teammates adopted two dogs yesterday, and their tweets made a difference.
The shelter says all but two of the dogs now have homes.
“We love them,” said Barbara Vass with the Fort Bend County Animal Shelter. “We love it, because it's spreading the word to the college campuses and getting the word out there on social media, and that is the only way we find it effective to get our dogs saved.”
These two pit bulls are supposed to be put down on Wednesday, but the shelter expects lots of visitors and hopes someone steps up like the Coogs’ cheerleaders.
