HOUSTON - Part of the Houston Zoo was closed Saturday afternoon after a curious western lowland gorilla wandered out of her enclosure and into another one.
Around 1 p.m., a 28-year-old female gorilla named Holli wandered into another area of her exhibit where red river hogs live.
The Zoo said the gorilla was never outside animal containment and visitors were not in danger at any time.
The African Forest section of the zoo was closed so staff could reunite Holli with her troop.
It was unusual for the gorilla to move into the area with the hogs and employees are investigating how she was able to do so.
