There are hundred of dogs and cats in need of loving homes before Christmas.

Houston Pets Alive! is making it easier for people to adopt by waiving fees during their "Home for the Pawlidays" event.

They will offer fee-waived adoptions at their temporary animal shelter from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m. starting December 22nd to the 24th. The shelter is located at 8620 Stella Link.

“All of the animals in our shelter have been given a second chance,” said Andrea Birkelbach, founder of Houston Pets Alive. “These pets are just waiting for their new families to come find them, so they need adopters to come out to give them a home for the holidays. We are incredibly full right now, so every adoption means that we can save another life.”

Those who can't adopt can choose to be a temporary foster family. They are also seeking volunteers.
