Rodeo chuck wagon driver 'stable' after nasty fall during race
The driver of a chuck wagon was injured when he flew out his wagon on Monday night at the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo. The fall happened around 8:30 p.m. The driver was taking part in the chuck wagon races that were happening before the Florida Georgia Line concert. Tap here to read more.
Flames shoot from Crosby-area apartment complex
Residents of a Crosby-area apartment complex woke up to large flames early Tuesday morning after a fire apparently started in a laundry room. Firefighters arrived at the complex along FM 2100 at about 5 a.m. Tap here to read more.
Laptops, electronics barred from cabins on some flights to U.S., airlines say
Passengers traveling from 10 airports in eight Middle East and African countries will be barred from bringing laptops and other large electronics into the cabin as carry-ons starting as early as Tuesday. Two Middle Eastern-based airlines tweeted on Monday that passengers would not be allowed to bring laptops, Kindles, iPads and other electronics on flights heading to the U.S. Tap here to read more.
Senate Education Committee taking up school choice bill
The leading piece of legislation subsidizing private school tuition — one of the most controversial bills this session — will get its first hearing Tuesday in the Senate Public Education Committee. Sen. Larry Taylor, R-Friendswood, filed Senate Bill 3 in late January, combining two separate public programs subsidizing private school tuition and homeschooling expenses. The committee will hear a new version of the bill on Tuesday, as SB 3 has undergone some revisions. Tap here to read more.
Men ride horses through Walmart in Houston
