PASADENA, Texas – Pasadena says more than 100 vehicles will be up for grabs at the city’s regular vehicle auction on Saturday, Sept. 16.
The vehicles include surplus city vehicles as well as confiscated and abandoned vehicles.
All of the auction items may be viewed on Friday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. On Saturday, vehicle viewing starts at 7 a.m. and bidding will begin at 9 a.m. sharp. The auction will take place at 3124 Red Bluff RD. Pasadena, TX 77503.
All vehicles are sold as-is, but a city spokesman confirms none of the vehicles were flooded during Harvey because they were already on the storage lot, which did not flood.
“My car made it fine through the floods, but I guess a couple of days after the floods someone decided they liked my car and they stole it right in front of my house,” said Alex Arceneaux of the crime that happened in West Chase, his Houston neighborhood.
“My wife’s a teacher, I run a store. We’re paycheck to paycheck.” said Arceneaux.
Kareem Allaulu runs a used car lot in Pasadena, inventory of unflooded used cars is low, he says. “It’s actually very difficult right now, especially for car dealers. Because our lots got flooded too,” said Allaulu.

“Literally, pun intended, it’s the perfect storm of things to make it hard to continue a normal life,” said Arceneaux.

These vehicles were in our lot and DID NOT flood during the Hurricane."
“That’s really the main reason that got us to drive out here,” said Arceneaux. “We, we changed our plans for the whole week to come out for this.”
“One man’s trash is another man’s treasure. It might look bad right now, but after being worked on and everything it will go back to being a good car, you know,” said Allaulu.
Vehicles up for grabs are mostly older. You’ll find a wide variety of foreign and domestic cars and trucks along with a Jaguar, a BMW and a Mercedes.
