David Paul's Blog: Heavy Rain Headed for Texas

It's a wet weather pattern that could cause flooding concerns

Computer forecasts continue to suggest a very wet weather pattern for the east half of Texas has arrived and will stay through Thursday. It's too early to tell exactly what parts of east Texas will get the most rain. Models indicate the heaviest of the rain may be closer to Dallas than Houston.

But this time of year, things can change in a hurry. I say this not to alarm or scare, but to inform. We will be watching the radar closely over the next few days and step in to let you know if the threat moves toward our area.

Here is the latest computer thinking for rain totals in our area through Friday. 3"-4" totals don't sound like much when compared to Harvey's 35"+ totals. But on ground that is still dormant, run off will be swift and can cause rises on creeks and rivers.
