GERMANTOWN, Md.-Five months after the death of a Germantown baby, Montgomery County police have now charged his father with murder.

On June 23 around 10:40 a.m., police received a 911 call from 22-year-old Austin Ahimbisibwe who said he was doing CPR on his five-month-old son, Hudson Ahimbisibwe, who was not breathing.

When emergency officials arrived at the home in the 19500 block of Crystal Rock Drive, they rushed Hudson to the hospital where he was pronounced dead.

An autopsy was performed the following day on June 24, and on October 9 officials ruled Hudson’s death homicide.

During their investigation, police learned that Hudson’s mother, who does not live with Ahimbisibwe, left the baby in his care while she was at work.

On October 14, Ahimbisibwe told investigators that he got frustrated when the baby wouldn’t stop crying. He then told police that he grabbed Hudson by the neck and face, covered his mouth and shook the baby all in an effort to stop him from crying.

Police arrested and charged Ahimbisibwe with second-degree murder and first-degree child abuse resulting in death.

He is currently being held on a $2.5 million bond.
