BAYTOWN, Texas - Two more people have been arrested in connection with the death of a woman who was approximately eight months pregnant.

On February 24, officers discovered the body of 21-year-old Rose Marie Hunt, covered in a blanket on the side of Tri City Beach Road. Police say she had suffered a single gunshot wound to the head.

David Galindo, 20, was charged in connection with the murder in late February. As detectives continued their investigation, they learned that Galindo was reportedly paid $1,500 to commit the murder. Investigators determined that the suspected father of Rose's unborn child, 23-year-old Derrick Metcalf, allegedly paid Galindo.

Police say Galindo's girlfriend, 18-year-old Daizy Costello, was also present during the negotiations and later allegedly took steps to help facilitate the murder.

Police believe Galindo and Hunt knew each other in High School. They say the two had recently reconnected on social media.

“In her mind, she was on a date with Mr. Galindo. Obviously, Mr. Galindo had other things on his mind,” said Lt. Steve Dorris.

According to the Baytown Police Department, both Metcalf and Costello have confessed to their involvement in the murder. Galindo's charges have been upgraded to capital murder.

“It’s tragic. It’s truly tragic. Not only do we have a young lady who lost her life, but we have an unborn child. Ms. Hunt was almost full term. We have an unborn child that never got to take its first breath and live their life. It’s just extremely tragic and selfish act,” said Dorris.
