HOUSTON - Three suspects are on the run after shooting a man in his backyard late Friday evening in north Houston.

Around 11 p.m., three armed men opened fire on the man, shooting several rounds, police said. The man was hit in the leg and was taken to Ben Taub Hospital.

The home where the shooting happened is located on Chapman and Woodard Street.

One of the stray bullets went through a neighbor's home. She said she was on her couch watching TV when she heard the gun shots and one of the bullets hit her TV.

"I just heard a lot of gun shots and my husband said 'Get down, get down! It's coming from the back.'" said the neighbor.

Police are now looking for the suspects who fled the scene in a white Dodge Charger.

They said the victim is expected to survive.
