LA PORTE, Texas – A suspect has been charged with aggravated assault in a domestic dispute at a La Port home.
On Tuesday, 50-year-old Robert Amaya Pacas was charged with three counts of aggravated assault after being accused of shooting a mother and her two sons on Sunday night.
Police responded to reports of gunfire in the 3200 block of Tara Place just off Spencer Highway at about 9:12 p.m.
Police and EMS crews found a 50-year-old woman, 26-year-old male and a 14-year-old male with gunshot wounds. Police were told the suspect fled in a white four door Toyota Tundra pickup.
According to the La Porte Police Department, Pacas was later tracked down after he was involved in a hit-and-run crash in Pasadena. The suspect was taken to the hospital and is in custody.
"Initial indications are that the male apprehended by the Pasadena Police Department was involved in a relationship with the 50-year-old female shooting victim and the shooting was the result of a domestic dispute," police stated in a press release.
The mom and older son were released from the hospital overnight after being treated for their injuries. The younger son remains in the hospital after undergoing surgery.
