Authorities are seeking the public's help in finding a "person of interest" after a man was found shot to death in east Houston late Saturday night.

According to the Houston Police Department, the shooting happened around 9:30 p.m. in the backyard of a home located in the 700 block of Rouse.

A witness told police they were arriving home when they saw a man, known as Juan, leaving the backyard and "panicking." The witness then went to the backyard and found a man dead with a gunshot wound to the head.

Police say Juan is "believed to be a person of interest."
