An MS-13 gang member was sentenced to 99 years in prison Tuesday for the fatal shooting of a man.
Jonathan Steven Guevara, 21, was convicted of the November 2015 murder of Hector Daniel Diaz, 28, who was shot after jumping out of a sedan on Harwin Drive.
Guevara and another member of MS-13, Giovani Herrera, took turns shooting Diaz, who was shot eight times, including at least once in the back of the head.
Prosecutors said there was no evidence prior to the night of the murder that Diaz had ever spoken with his killers.
Herrera pleaded guilty in the case and is awaiting sentencing. The getaway driver in this case is awaiting trial.
