Man stabbed at Galveston tire shop, suspect at large

Police say the victim, a 51-year-old man, and a customer were involved in a verbal altercation when the customer stabbed the man in the throat.
Three Galveston police officers came to the rescue of a woman who went into labor Monday afternoon.

GALVESTON, Texas - Police are searching for a suspect they say stabbed a man at a tire shop Monday in Galveston.

Galveston police responded to the scene around 3 p.m. Monday at the A&A Tire Shop in the 5700 block of Stewart Road. They say the victim, a 51-year-old man, and a customer were involved in a verbal altercation when the customer stabbed the man in the throat.

The victim was transported to the hospital and is expected to be OK.

The suspect fled the scene. Police describe the suspect as a 5-foot-8 male, approximately 180 pounds with a shaved head and a dark shirt.
