HOUSTON- A man was shot at multiple times while sitting in his car on the side of the road in west Houston on Saturday night.

According to the Houston Police Department, the shooting happened around 9:30 p.m. when a man in his early 20's was sitting in his car on the side of Waldemar Drive.

Police said four men were hiding at the corner of the intersection at Bentworth Drive. One of them pulled out a gun and shot six times at the man who was sitting in his car.

The victim was shot twice in the face.

He tried to get away and drove a few blocks to a Valero on Westheimer Road. Police said he pulled in and collapsed, crashing into a parked pickup truck.

The victim was transported to a hospital. He is in serious but stable condition.

HPD said the suspects fled the scene in a white, older model Ford Explorer. One of the suspects dropped their cell phone, police will be looking at it.
