HARRIS COUNTY, Texas – A man was shot as he pulled up to his home in northeast Harris County, deputies say.

The shooting happened around 2:30 a.m. Thursday on West Village at Park Pine.

Deputies at the scene say the man was driving up in his car when someone in his townhome’s driveway opened fire on the car. The victim jumped out of the car, and a brief foot chase ensued.

Eventually the suspect fled, and responding paramedics responded and took the wounded man to the hospital in serious condition.

A motive for the crime is not yet known.

The man’s common-law wife and children were inside the townhome at the time, but there were no other injuries reported.
