HOUSTON- A man in a stolen SUV was shot in the leg at a gas station by someone he knew on Saturday night.
According to the Houston Police Department, the incident occurred around 10:30 p.m. at the Citgo gas station located at the corner of Bissonnet Street and Cook Road.
Police said the victim who was driving a stolen GMC Acadia was traveling westbound on Bissonnet Street along with a person he knew in a black Hummer in the next lane.
They said he told the other guy that he was about to run out of gas and asked if he could pull over to get gas. They two men drove to the gas station, but suddenly a passenger in the black Hummer pulled out a gun and shot the victim in the leg.
The Hummer fled the scene. HPD believe the men might be a part of the group who stole the vehicle and something happened to cause the shooting.
The victim was taken to Ben Taub Hospital and is in serious but stable condition.
