Police say a man died after a shootout in the parking lot of a Jack In The Box in east Houston.

According to Officer S. Jimanez with HPD Homicide, restaurant employees reported that people were exchanging gunfire around 11:30 p.m. Sunday. When police arrived, everyone was gone.

The victim was later identified as Miguel Angel Cid, 22.

Witnesses said Cid was being pushed out of a vehicle. He fired shots as the vehicle he was pushed out of fled the scene. Cid then collapsed and was picked up by his brother, who was in another vehicle.

Cid was taken to the hospital where he later died, police say.
