HOUSTON – Police are looking for three men who opened fire on a mother and her small child in south Houston overnight.
According to the Houston Police Department, it happened just before midnight late Thursday at the woman's home near Seabrook and Tierwester.
Investigators said the family was just getting home around 11:40 p.m., and that's when the mother told police a car rolled up in front of the house. She says two men and a woman were inside, and they just opened fire.
The mother was able to duck, along with her child, so they weren't hit. However, there are bullet holes in the wall of the house.
Police said when the suspects tried to speed off they crashed into a ditch.
They weren't hanging around for officers to get there. They ran off, and police still haven't found them.
As for that car the suspects were driving, investigators said it came back as stolen.
So they're still looking for clues about who tried to kill, or send a message to, this little family.
