HOUSTON – Police are searching for a suspect after a man was stabbed several times while walking home from the Metro rail Thursday night in north Houston.

According to the Houston Police Department, it happened at 10:30 p.m. when the victim was walking home on Melbourne Street near Gay Street.

Investigators said an unknown male suspect approached, and then stabbed the victim four times. The victim was stabbed twice in the chest and twice in the back.

The victim was transported to a local hospital in serious condition, but is expected to survive, police said.

Police said the suspect ran away on foot and remains at large. However, HPD may have surveillance video to review.  

Police have not released anymore details on the suspect.
