HOUSTON – Homicide detectives say they are working on some leads after a man was found shot several times in front of a north Houston bar overnight.

According to the Houston Police Department, officers responded at 1 a.m. Friday to a call of a man found “laying down” in front of the La Playita Bar located in the 2500 block of the Elysian Street near Morris Street.

When HPD arrived at the scene, they found a man shot several times. He was transported to a local hospital in critical condition. 

HPD homicide detectives said they are working on some leads to a possible suspect, but otherwise the suspect got away. No known motive as to why the shooting happened. 

No other suspect information was released.

Police said there were about 10 shots fired and shell casings found in front of the bar.
