HOUSTON – Detectives say an altercation between a man and woman led to a fatal shooting in southwest Houston overnight.
According to the Houston Police Department, officers responded at 2 a.m. to a call of shooting at the Piper's Crossing Apartments, located in the 12500 block of Sandpiper.
When HPD arrived at the scene, officer found one male shot dead near the stairwell to an apartment.
Witnesses told police that there was some sort of altercation between the victim and a female when another man intervened and shots were fired.
Police said the shooter has not been identified and his whereabouts are unknown. They added that it is not clear what led to the altercation.
Police said they are not sure which of the three individuals involved live at the apartment complex, and detectives are collecting evidence and interviewing witnesses.
