HOUSTON – Three car burglary suspects were arrested following a short chase that ended in a crash along Highway 288 overnight.

According to Houston Police Department, officers received a call at 1 a.m. about three male suspects seen jumping a fence at an apartment complex located on Almeda.

When HPD arrived at the scene, they spotted the three suspects breaking into cars. It appears that they had broken into six vehicles.

Police said the suspects took off in a gray car. HPD put out a description a Harris County Precinct 7 deputy constable spotted the suspect vehicle fleeing the area and called it in.

Then HPD caught up with the suspects and attempted to pull them over, but the driver refused to yield.

Officers pursued the suspects to the area of Highway 288 and Reed Road where the suspect driver lost control of the vehicle and struck a curb.

Police said attempted flee the scene on foot in separate directions. Luckily an HPD helicopter was in the area and help set up a perimeter. This allowed officers on the ground to apprehend all three suspects.

The suspect face charges of burglary of a motor vehicle and evading, police said. The driver also faces a charge of evading in a vehicle.
