HARRIS COUNTY, Texas -- The Harris County Sheriff’s Office is looking for a man who posed as a police officer before sexually assaulting a teenager in the Channelview area.

The crime happened Oct. 15 at about 4:30 a.m.

The sheriff’s office says a black male suspect approached a 16-year-old girl walking down the sidewalk and instructed her to get in his car. He told the girl he was an officer and she was breaking curfew.

Instead of taking the girl to a police station, the man took the girl under the overpass of the Crosby Freeway at the San Jacinto River where he engaged in sexual acts with her.

The male is said to have been armed with a black and silver, semiautomatic handgun. The male is believed to operate a black, 2007-2009 Saturn Aura, which may have had temporary or “paper tag plate” affixed to the rear bumper for the vehicle.

Police described the man as standing approximately 6’, weighing approximately 280 lbs.

The male is said to have a mustache and other facial hair, and may have an earring in the left earlobe.

Anyone with information on this suspect is urged to call the Harris County Sheriff’s Office Child Abuse unit at 713-830-3250. You may also call Crime Stoppers at 713-222-TIPS (8477).
