HARRIS COUNTY, Texas – Deputies with the Harris County Sheriff’s Office say a man is in custody after he led them on a chase that ended in a crash.

The chase started around 12:30 a.m. Thursday when a deputy spotted an altercation on Antoine. When the deputy pulled in, the suspect sped away in a black Infiniti car.

Deputies say a female passenger in the car jumped out during the chase, alleging the suspect beat her.

The suspect continued to lead deputies on a high-speed pursuit before slamming into a pillar under the freeway. He jumped out and tried to run on foot, but he was apprehended.

The woman was taken to the hospital by ambulance for her injuries.
