HARRIS COUNTY, Texas- A 29-year-old woman is accused of stealing $275,000 from the self-checkout lanes of a local Kroger where she was employed. 

According to the Harris County Sheriff's Office, 29-year-old Dana Williams started working at a local Kroger store in 2014. She was in charge of "handling the cash room dispersal for the self-service check out points in the store."

HCSO said loss prevention at Kroger discovered false deposits and transfers made by Williams. Authorities said she used several fraudulent methods to hide the cash she stole. 

It is believed the embezzlement started in March 2016 and continued until February 2017. The company became aware of her activities once she didn't' come to work, claiming an illness. 

HCSO Financial Crimes was made aware of the situation. They said they discovered video of her taking the money. 

Williams has been charged with Aggregate Theft. She is currently being held on a $500,000 bond.
