CONROE, Texas- A woman was arrested for money laundering after more than $100,000 was seized from her vehicle during a routine traffic stop, authorities said. 

According to the Texas Department of Transportation, a DPS trooper stopped 21-year-old Vicky Martinez for speeding on Highway 59 around 10:25 a.m. on April 29. 

DPS said the trooper saw signs of criminal activity and requested a canine team respond to the scene.Their canines smelled narcotics and a search discovered 10 bundles of U.S. currency totaling more than $100,000.

Martinez told authorities it was "proceeds of criminal activity."

The suspect was arrested and accused of money laundering. She has been booked in Fort Bend County jail. 

There was a 16-year-old passenger in her car who was released to Child Protective Services.
