HARRIS COUNTY, Texas – Deputies say two men were shot through the front door of a home in Cy-Fair Thursday night. One man died. Homeowner Austin Clay survived.

“I got ricochet in the eye and once in the back of the head and once in the hand,” said Clay. Investigators say Clay’s friend died at a hospital.

“He was a good man. He didn’t deserve this,” said Clay. “Would’ve given you the shirt off his back. All cliché and everything. Really good guy.”

At least three bullet holes could be seen in the front door of a home in the 13000 block of Bexhill Drive at about 11 p.m.

The Harris County Sheriff's Office named a person of interest in the shooting. Deputies are seeking information on Ambrea Lee Evans, 21, who allegedly fled the scene with the suspect.

“It sounded like the gunshots were right here in my yard,” said Roger Hogue who lives across the street from where the shooting happened. “We heard like four gunshots and I thought it might be fireworks, because it’s almost July 4th.”

HCSO describe the suspect vehicle as a white Dodge Charger. The suspect is described as a black man, approximately 6 feet tall, 165 pounds and in his 20's.

Neighbors are surprised by the gunfire, “I haven’t had anything like this go down. I’ve been here for about 20 years,” said Hogue.

KHOU11 Reporter Melissa Correa asked Clay, “what’s your message to the folks who may know something or know this person who walked up to your door?” Clay responded, “Good luck.”

Anyone with information on the suspect or Evans is asked to contact the Harris County Sheriff's Office at 713-221-6000. Crime Stoppers will pay up to $5,000 for information leading to the charging and/or arrest of the suspect in this case. Information may be reported by calling 713-222-TIPS.
