FORT BEND COUNTY, Texas – The Fort Bend County Sheriff’s Office and Crime Stoppers are looking to make arrests in a shooting outside a home near Mission Bend.

The crime happened at about 1:30 a.m. Oct. 8, according to the sheriff’s office.

Deputies were called to a home in the 16100 block of Chamomile Ct. in Eaglewood after a resident spotted a suspicious person.

While on the phone with dispatchers, the caller said he heard gunshots from the rear of his home, and a man walking on Lasbury was shot.

Deputies arrived, and the victim told deputies he saw two men running on Lasbury. He then saw a white passenger car, possibly a Kia Optima, make its way to Taloncrest. As the victim approached the intersection of Lasbury and Taloncrest, the white SUV pulled up next to him and the driver shot him.

Life Flight took the victim to the hospital for treatment.

According to deputies, the driver of the SUV was described as a light-skinned Hispanic male wearing all black and a black hat. The passenger of the SUV had the same description.

The descriptions match the descriptions of two suspects who were seen on video committing a burglary of a habitation on Chamomile Court.

Investigators believe there was another vehicle involved in the crime, a white four-door car used as a lookout for the burglars.

“In most burglary cases, the crooks usually don’t carry weapons, but this case was an exception,” said Sheriff Troy E. Nehls. “The victim found himself in the middle of a crime, a situation he could not have expected. We need the public’s help in catching these thugs. If you know anything about this crime, call Crime Stoppers and make some money.”
