HOUSTON – Houston police say a man is in custody after leading officers on a chase from the north side of town to the south side overnight.

According to officers with the Houston Police Department, it was around 12:55 a.m. Thursday when an officer tried to stop the man for a traffic violation on Homestead. The suspect got on the North Loop and then I-45 heading southbound.

The suspect came to a stop near Park Place when officers put a spike strip out.

They say the man got out of the car and started dancing in the roadway before officers released a K-9 unit to take him down.

The suspect was taken into custody and is facing evading charges, according to police.
