A five-month-old baby and her pregnant mother were wounded and her father was killed in a shooting in southwest Houston early Wednesday.

Investigators say the gunman stood outside the apartment on Corporate Drive and fired multiple rounds through the couple’s bedroom window.

Twenty-six crime scene markers could be seen from outside, as forensics analysts worked the scene.

The crime happened at an apartment complex in the 7700 block of Corporate at about 2:30 a.m. Wednesday.

“Everybody was just running around. There was a grown man out here screaming, on top of his lungs, like, ‘Oh my God’ type stuff,” said Brandon Gott, a neighbor who woke to the sounds of gunshots. “Yeah, it was bad.”

Alex Clark, 23, was killed. His girlfriend was wounded and underwent surgery but is expected to be OK. The baby was treated for graze wounds to the leg and foot and released.

Alex’s mother didn’t want to go on camera, but said her son was asleep, holding his infant daughter when the shooting happened.

She said the young woman learned she was pregnant when she was being treated at the hospital.

Two other children, a 4-year-old girl and 18-month-old boy weren't hurt, police said.

The dead man's mom described her son as a loving family man, but admitted he’d gotten into trouble before by hanging with the wrong crowd.

Homicide investigators are working to find leads on the suspect and motive.
