HOUSTON – One suspect was arrested and another remains at large after a robbery turned into a short police chase in southeast Houston overnight.

According to the Houston Police Department, a Clear Lake Police patrol unit was flagged down at 11:45 p.m. Tuesday by two victims at Park Place and the Gulf Freeway. They told officers they were just robbed at gunpoint by two males in a Dodge van.

The victims gave a description of the vehicle and direction they just left in, police said. An HPD unit spotted it nearby.

HPD attempted to stop the driver, but the suspect led police on a short chase to the 8100 block of Glenbrook. Police said that is where the suspect drove into a yard, bailed out and ran on foot.

Police said a K-9 unit found one of the suspects hiding in a backyard. He had to be treated on scene by HFD for a dog bite.

The other suspect got away, police said. They also recovered a backpack that had two guns, some wallets and stolen cell phones.

Police said the suspect vehicle was also stolen and was used at least one other robbery.

The suspects face charges of aggravated robbery and evading arrest, police said.

No other injuries were reported.
