TurboTax will be increasing its price to file taxes online after March 16, 2017.

The company notified customers via email and posted a message to their website. The notice has not been posted on its social media accounts.

In the email notice, the company writes:

"Dear Valued Customer, we are writing to notify you of a price increase for TurboTax Online products happening after March 16, 2017. The cost for TurboTax Online Deluxe, Premier and Self-Employed federal products, will go up after March 16, 2017. File before March 16, 2017 to lock in current rates. If you have already filed, please disregard this notice and thank you for using TurboTax."

On its website, the company says customers can save $25 if they file their taxes by March 16, 2017.

It is unclear why the company is charging its customers more money to file online this year.
