Americans don't have the best work-life balance, but a company who gives starting employees five weeks vacation might do the trick.
Glassdoor ranked the 25 highest rated companies for vacation and paid time off in a survey published Thursday. The report is entirely based on employee reviews.
Biotechnology company Amgen, Inc., tops the list with three weeks of vacation and two additional weeks around the Fourth of July and Christmas.
Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center is close behind, offering employees 20 vacation days, plus holiday days, sick days and personal days. Employees also noted work culture promotes breaks: "Nobody asks questions or makes you feel guilty for taking the time either which is a breath of fresh air," the report states. IKEA came in at No. 3 because employees receive 3 weeks per year when they start, 5 weeks per year after 5 years, and 7 weeks per year after 10 years.
