GALVESTON, Texas- In case you missed the first weekend of Mardi Gras! Galveston, you still have another chance to experience the big parties, parades, concerts and loads of bead throwing.

This year marks the 107th celebration in Galveston. It the largest celebration of its kind in Texas and the third largest in the nation.

Mardi Gras! Galveston brings the island’s streets to life for two weeks of infectious merriment. The event runs from February 2-13, 2018.

The second weekend of the celebration will kick off Friday, Feb 9. with a special salute to Texas First Responders. All first first responders and military personnel and a guest will be able to attend the celebration free of charge. There will be several concerts to keep you entertained. Texas country star Kevin Fowler will bring down the house with a stellar performance at 10:30 p.m.

On Saturday, several parades will take place along Galveston’s Seawall and through the downtown Mardi Gras Entertainment District. The Knights of Momus Grand Night Parade which is the largest parade of Mardi Gras! Galveston will start at 6:30 p.m. If you are looking to dance all day, then check out "Electric Mardi Gras" which will feature nonstop concerts, beat-thumping DJs and laser light shows.

The celebration comes to its finale on Sunday with "Family Gras" where the public can enjoy free admission with activities for the whole family to enjoy. Parades include the Shriners Hospital for Children & Sunshine Kids Parade, the Krewe of Barkus & Meoux Pet Parade and Mardi Gras Children’s Parade.
