Cupid coming to Katy for special Valentine's Day deliveries

Hurts Donut Co. is calling on Cupid to help spread love and doughnuts.

KATY, Texas – Calling Cupid.

The god of love is heading to Katy in time for Valentine’s Day to spread love and doughnuts. Cupid is teaming up with Hurts Donut Co. to make deliveries to unsuspecting people at their homes or offices.

“Donuts delivered by Hurts Donut Cupid is the perfect way to tell someone you love them,” the company posted on its Facebook page. “I think? Maybe not. But it’s hilarious and embarrassing.”

Cupid will be dressed in an adult diaper with angel wings. He’ll ride around Katy in the back of an Emergency Donut Vehicle on Monday through Wednesday making deliveries of variety Valentine’s Day doughnuts or chocolate-covered strawberry doughnuts.

Accompanied with the doughy goodness will be song and an interpretive dance by Cupid himself.

Deliveries will only be made to Katy addresses, said Matt Whitney, the owner of Hurts Donut in Katy.

Though Valentine’s Day is booked, there are still a few delivery openings Monday and Tuesday, Whitney said. People wanting to order can call 346-387-9900. Whitney said the only place Cupid won’t make deliveries is a school, unless there’s prior approval.

Sweet success! Hurts Donut comes to Katy

Hurts Donut Co., which has 16 stores nationwide, is known for its eccentric events. In the past the company has made doughnut deliveries in scary clown outfits, as Elves during Christmas and even as the Easter Bunny during Easter.

This is the first for the Katy store, which opened Dec. 13 last year.
